Launched in 2014, Nickel aims to make the current account available to everyone so anyone can pay and be paid. Customers open an account with a Mastercard card and a French IBAN at tobacconists and other local points of sale, with no income requirement and no overdraft, and the service is open to people otherwise barred from banking. Nickel is part of BNP Paribas.
